Today UM joins Near, the world’s largest source of intelligence on people and places. UM has long been a leading provider of business intelligence and data analytics solutions, and our acquisition by Near will enhance our ability to help organizations around the world access the insights they need to drive digital transformation initiatives.
Transformation is not new to UM, however. Not only have we been a driver of change for others, we’ve been a leader in adapting to evolving data needs and expectations from both clients and individuals.
Since our founding in 2010 as UberMedia, we’ve been helping organizations unlock the value of data and make it more accessible. First it was through social media assets, then in 2012 we expanded our focus to help brands tap into intelligent mobile advertising. And in 2015, we pioneered the first location intelligence platform and have continued to find ways to leverage location data from the growing mobile market.
Despite the challenges of 2020, we were able to change our scope and dedicate resources to help communities during the pandemic–conducting research to demonstrate the impact of data on city planning, vaccine rollout, and population migration. Earlier this year we underwent rebranding to become UM as a reflection of our continued growth and evolution.
Our relationship with Near is an example of that positive change–expanding our offering so it’s more of a full suite solution with a global presence. We’re excited about all the additional opportunities for UM team experts to interact and innovate with Near experts in the best interests of our clients.
